These illustrations compare four of the major baths of ancient Rome in chronological order: Titus, Trajan, Caracalla and Diocletion.
The first drawing compares the entire bath complex, including the main building, gardens and exercise yards, and auxiliary buildings such as libraries, theaters and meeting rooms. The Baths of Diocletian were the largest in Rome.
