The map above shows the central area of the modern city of Rome. Among the prominent features are Vatican City (upper left) and Termini, the rail station (right). The Metro line and its stops are shown in purple.
A somewhat closer view of the modern city center is shown below. This illustration includes the Campus Martius,
the Capitoline and Palatine hills, the Circus Maximus, the Forum Romanum and the Imperial Fora, and the complex
of buildings around the Colosseum.
The two following illustrations show details of the above drawing. The first shows the area around the fora, the second shows the Campus Martius.
