The Column of Phocas
and the other Honorary Columns in the Forum Romanum
The drawing below shows the plan and elevation of the Column of Phocas, the last monument erected in the Forum Romanum, and the other honorary columns that lined the Sacra Via. In the elevation portion of the drawing the Column of Phocas is shown twice, once in light gray to show its true location with respect to the other columns and, on the left, in color to show its detail more clearly.

A human figure, blue, has been inserted between the middle columns to give a sense of scale.
