Trajan's ColumnThe illustration on the right shows the interior of the column with the spiral stairs and the exterior view. The carved spiral is indicated by the lines that separate the scenes on the actual column.
Below is a comparison of Trajan's Column to the column of Marcus Aurelius. Note that Aurelius' column is taller because of the additional height of the base. The acutal column itself is not quite as tall as Trajan's and is not so finely sculpted.
